Message Despite what a lot of people think, it is actually not a huge difference in noise between solid and stiffer poly or nismo. If noise is an absolute concern, stick to stock. In general, with stock rear end gears, the noise increase is not intrusive. Leader gears however could be noisy with either solid or poly/nismo.

Polyurethane and rubber will "cold flow" under the constant weight exerted by the diff/subframe (eg. think of the depressions formed over time by weights placed on rubber/plastic mats). So over time poly/rubber will sag. Solid in comparison will never need replacement.

For performance, the less your subframe/differential moves around under power or deceleration, the better. So for performance, solid is the better choice.
